{"id":1098,"date":"2014-01-24T05:39:31","date_gmt":"2014-01-24T10:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aoh.com\/?p=1098"},"modified":"2014-01-24T05:39:31","modified_gmt":"2014-01-24T10:39:31","slug":"anti-def-bed-bath-and-beyond-a-win-in-defense-of-our-heritage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aoh.com\/2014\/01\/24\/anti-def-bed-bath-and-beyond-a-win-in-defense-of-our-heritage\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-Def: Bed Bath and Beyond (a win in defense of our heritage!)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The AOH\u2019s actions in protest to the denigrating merchandise being sold by Bed, Bath &amp; Beyond\u2019s\u00a0 Christmas Tree Shops division were subsequently reported in Irish Central and the Irish Voice; bringing our commitment to defend our heritage to the attention of the\u00a0 broader Irish and Irish American community.\u00a0 This evening we received a message from Bed, Bath and Beyond stating they are removing the offensive\u00a0 items from their shelves and will sensitize their buyers as regard items which are defaming\u00a0 and promote negative stereotypes against Irish Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Brothers, this is a step in the right direction that we as Hibernians can take pride in.\u00a0 It disproves the fatalistic belief that we must to accept defamation at this time of year as \u201cYou\u2019ll never change anything\u201d.\u00a0 When we as Hibernians and a Irish Americans speak with one voice, we can accomplish anything and in what better cause than in defense of our proud heritage.<\/p>\n<p>With Thanks for Your Support.<\/p>\n<p>Neil F.
