Legal counsel is the major information resource relative to all constitutional issues of the Order.  As such, he is tasked with using all opportunities and means to provide members with background on issues and concerns. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

His responsibility includes providing varied means for communicating the AOH membership constitutional issues. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

ARTICLE X – NATIONAL LEGAL COUNSEL: Section 19<\/strong>. <\/b><\/span><\/span>Shall:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A. Be a lawyer admitted to the Bar of a State, or District;
\nB. Be responsible for the handling of all legal matters that involve the National Board of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America, Inc.;
\nC. Provide legal advice to the National President;
\nD. Shall serve as the Constitutional Committee Chairman, and appoint six (6) members to his committee, all of whom have received their major degrees and the approval of the National President.
\nE. Receive and study the By\u001elaws of subordinate bodies. When required he shall forward his recommendations to the National President;
\nF. Secure from State and District President or ranking officer of the various jurisdictions, at least sixty (60) days prior to the National Convention, any recommendations or suggestions, affecting the Constitution (in accordance with Article XXVIII, section 3);
\nG. Call a meeting of the Committee at least once a year;
\nH. Secure from each National Officer (sufficiently in advance of the Convention) any recommendations affecting the Constitution which he intends to make in his report to the Convention;
\nI. Report to the National Convention and National Board Meetings; and
\nJ. <\/span><\/span>The National Legal Counsel, with approval of the National President, may appoint up to four Deputy Legal Counsel as need arises.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Communicate with State Chairmen \u2013 State President if Chair unknown<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Speak to your state chairmen Annually<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Communicate to your state chairmen monthly via e-mal.<\/span><\/span>\n

    1. Expand to your county and division chairmen as you move forward.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      National Communications<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Hibernian Digest Responsibility<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Submit a 300 to 600-word article to the Hibernians Digest prior to the established deadline for each and every Hibernian Digest published.<\/span><\/p>\n

        1. Web Page Responsibility<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Responsible for creating and approving all content on the AOH web-page as related to chairmanship. <\/span><\/p>\n

          Must provide a monthly update to the AOH webmaster. Weekly updates are encouraged. <\/span><\/p>\n

          Updates are a simple action picture and a paragraph. <\/span><\/p>\n

          1. Email Blast Responsibility<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Prepare articles for email blast as requested. Suggest articles for email blast as needed<\/span><\/p>\n

            Other<\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

            Additional duties as assigned by the national president.<\/span><\/p>\n
