{"id":8824,"date":"2020-12-02T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-02T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aoh.com\/?p=8824"},"modified":"2020-12-02T10:57:53","modified_gmt":"2020-12-02T15:57:53","slug":"the-holiday-season-approaches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aoh.com\/2020\/12\/02\/the-holiday-season-approaches\/","title":{"rendered":"The Holiday Season Approaches"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hartford AOH&nbsp;Division&nbsp;2 continues to be active in the autumn months as the holiday season approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Division&nbsp;continues to have monthly food drives to benefit the Food Pantry at Saint Augustine Church in Hartford. The October drive included a call for an extra bag of Halloween treats with usual donations and the November drive was for Thanksgiving side dishes. The&nbsp;Division&nbsp;will work with Saint Augustine to help others for the Christmas holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Division&nbsp;has been held monthly meetings that were both in-person practicing social distancing and in a virtual format. Starting in December, the meetings will be virtual-only as the COVID-19 virus spread more rapid in Connecticut. The October speaker was Rory McGloin of the Hartford GAA and in November, Connecticut television journalist Dennis House led a non-partisan discussion on the 2020 election, both from a national and state perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0Division\u00a0will also holds is annual March Calendar Raffle, which awards a daily prize each day in March. The raffle benefit the Hartford St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade the charities of Hartford AOH.
